Introduction
The following is a list of examples of resources at HKU regarding e-learning, accessibility support in teaching and learning, and disability awareness and disability inclusion. The list is not exhaustive.
E-learning support
- HKU E-Learning Resource Hub.
HKU’s centralized platform for promoting easy access to e-learning resources and courses offered by faculties and support units. HKU members can also submit their resources to the Hub for review and sharing on the Hub. - E-learning@HKU. Teaching and Learning Support page.

- 8 categories of optional digital tools including the tools for chat or verbal communication; collaboration, whiteboards, and brainstorming; mindmapping; voting or quizzes; work file sharing; presentation or lecture capture; organization; and peer feedback.

A collection of resources which covers the introduction of 30 e-learning tools with references; videos showcasing good practices and sharing by colleagues; and practical guidelines on 8 approaches to technology-enhanced learning including the pros and cons, step-by-step instructions, case studies of good practices, tips, and further readings.

Gadgets and tools for online teaching; support resources and training courses for video-making as well as designing blended, flipped, or hybrid classes. The list will be periodically updated. - HKU Online Learning FAQ videos.
HKU EdTech Research & Development. A YouTube playlist of a variety of topics of online teaching support, such as demonstration of using various e-learning tools like Zoom and Mentimeter. - E-Learning Team, Faculty of Education.
An integrated database of online teaching and learning maintained by the e-learning team from the Faculty of Education at HKU. The e-learning team would provide one-on-one, teaching team, or program-level consultation and technical assistance. - Online Teaching Support, Information Technology Services.
It provides suggestions of instructional tools for different modes of teaching delivery, namely live teaching with staff and students’ interaction; live teaching without the need of interaction; and non-live teaching. The tools cover video meeting tools for classes; tools for composing or editing videos; repository for storing videos; and classroom facilities for live and non-live teaching. - Teaching Space. It provides information of the internal layout and audio-visual facilities of the teaching spaces, such as a 360 degree of camera view of the internal setting, the lectern type, availability of space for guide dog users, seating arrangement for wheelchair users. This information can also be useful to event planning for non-teaching activities. - Software available for HKU students and staff. Information Technology Services.

Useful for creating accessible documents such as Word documents, PowerPoint slides, and Excel spreadsheet. - Foxit PDF Editor Pro
Useful for creating accessible PDF; available on both Windows and Mac. Currently Foxit PDF Editor Pro in Windows can support both accessibility check and accessibility-related editing functions (such as tagging). The Mac version supports accessibility check but no other accessibility-related editing functions (such as tagging). - A campus license on Qualtrics arranged for use by HKU staff and students.

- Special Room For Visually Impaired Students. HKU Library.
Available on the 2/F of the Main Library. Personal computers in this room are equipped with reading aids and scanning facilities, such as Braille display, magnifier, power scanner, Braille embosser, JAWS (a computer screen reader) for English and Chinese language. Registered SEN students recommended by CEDARS SEN Support can access the Rooms by tapping their student cards on the card readers next to the Study Rooms doors.
